Upper contact

It is overlain conformably by the Jixiangfeng Fm

Age

Its whole-rock K-Ar age is of 152-158 Ma, K-Ar isochron age is of 144.5 Ma, and Rb-Sr whole-rock isochron age is of 145.1 Ma (Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, 1991).So the age of the formation should be assigned to the Late Jurassic Epoch. Schematic stratigraphic column suggests a late-Oxfordian age.
